Cardinal cocktail
The Cardinal cocktail: a variant of the famous "kir" but with red wine.

For 1 person
2 cl crème de cassis
10 cl red wine

How to make

Technique: straight to the glass / Glass: wine / Type: long drink (12cl) / Time: 1 mn
  1. Pour the crème de cassis directly into a wine glass, then the red wine.

The Cardinal cocktail is a descendant of kir, a famous aperitif of Burgundian origin. Cardinals are said to be so called for their purple dress, so they would accept any red wine from Burgundy (or close to it) that does not compromise this dress.
